In August 2004, at the instigation of Peter White of Toronto, I decided to put my book Rousay Roots online. My guess that the project would take about a year to complete turned out to be very accurate as the final pages went online a fortnight ago.

I would not have undertaken the task had I not earlier received promises of help from those named below who undertook to do all the typesetting and later the checking of links. I am grateful for all the excellent work that they did.
